Recently, something happened that at first did not actually attract my attention. Some weird story about Visa and Mastercard asking online gaming marketplaces to remove or restrict games that contain sex-related content. Well, I thought, it's an ongoing debate in society. Sex, murders, wars, etc. Will this poor boy try to cut off his grandma's head after playing Super Mario? Alright, alright. Let's say Postal? And here we go again... I guess this will never end. But, to be clear, in my opinion, people should better put their shit together and fix the root causes of the issues and stop blaming anything else, but their poor choices.
Anyway. I learnt that that shift in payment processors' policy was initiated by a group called Collective Shout. I learnt that they probably have ties to people in Australia's government. And that they simply brute forced Visa and Mastercard with their shit.
My instant reaction is fuck these pieces of shit. You don't want to see games about sex or whatever? Filter them out of your feed. Nobody's forcing you to look at them, let alone play them. The only reason for these assholes to do what they did was the desire to show their power, their influence. Fuck Collective Shout. Fuck the cowards in Visa and Mastercard. Fuck the Australian politicians who helped all this shit to happen. I hope everyone involved will get a feeling of a proper backlash. People like these are a fucking stain on concepts like feminism, tolerance, diversity, etc. Did anything change after the whole #metoo mess? Of course, there were real victims there. But for the most part, all the loud voices were for the same reason as in this story.
Those who are nothing want to become something without actually doing or changing anything. These actions will not fix inequality, they will not fix child pornography, they will not fix any of the issues society has. It's just a bunch of greedy for power assholes who want to impose their dictatorship over others and feel important. Fuck it.
