Finally, after two replacements, the touchpad on my HP Dev One works fine. This time I got one for the Elitebook G7 or G8. They are similar. And Dev One is based on these models.

The original one and the next one I tried worked awfully. I could feel the clicks but half of the time they just didn't send any signals. I ended up working either with a mouse or using hardware buttons. Finally, this UX torture is over.
